Was thinking ahhh...
Haven't been blogging for very long.

Went to read my last entry,
Sure enough, my last post was more than 2 months ago...
Woot.

Time really flies by very fast at work...
Very, very fast.
I know that people always complain how they wish that the clock would go faster when they are at work,
But for my job, many of us wish that the time would go SLOWER.
I'm saying this not to spite and laugh at you guys,
But really, I seem to be constantly battling with time.
It goes by so fast, I can't seem to finish what I'm supposed to do.
And whoosh, everyday I lie down in bed,
I think of the things that are brought over to the next day,
And the additional things that I will have to do tomorrow.
Arrgh....

Never mind,
Chiong the next 2 weeks away with data and reports and kids,
Then can have about 2 week break. :)
At least there's something to look forward to among this madness...
Oh yeahh.

NYPAW had its concert 2 weeks ago.
Sold my tickets to some of the kids and gave 2 to Jerold.
Chris came to watch with his bf!!
YAY!

Honestly, I was a little, just a little disappointed --
I felt we could do better in the sound aspect.
I loved the way the band played during the rehearsal.
The feelings and sound are there.
But for the actual performance,
Goodness know why,
Almost everyone was blasting the piece away like a madman...
HATED the sound from where I was sitting, I tell you.
Also, some the people who normally played well didn't.
Don't want to mention names here.

There were also some screwups,
Like one of the combined piece...
Arrgh... And LAOSHI and Dr. Goh are watching.
My goodness, I felt so lousy.

The upside - I managed to run correctly for Portrait in The City,
I even ran the parts that went up and down!
AND I FELT THAT IT WAS ACTUALLY QUITE EASY.
(Overconfidence??)

I'm sure I was mostly okay, running together with the woodwinds at the same time.

Strange...
I was practially struggling to keep up with the band even till the last practice on Thursday...

Heyhey,
I DID practice hor.
Lawrence can be my witness -- he watched and even guided me in some parts,
And told me that my running notes are clearer okay.

But when it comes to alumni, I somehow cannot play it out...
Not even a single note...
I'll just sit there and listen to Sheng and Boon Hwee play them out.

Thinking back,
Maybe it was as what Chris had said - "Its all in the mind."
Can imagine him pointing and putting his finger on his temples... Haha.

Well, at least I don't feel as lousy now...
Probably should just 'gan gan lai' next time.

Anyway, before the concert,
We went for dinner.
Being the clumsy me, I tripped, and my favourite pair of black shoes spoilt!!
*cries*
Went to grab a wrap at Subway, saw HS and his horn friend there.
Hopped to grab a pair of new shoes for the performance when Peiyi and Merci went to toilet.
The shoes the shop owners reccomended me was a really nice pair, but it cost $99!!
My goodness... But it really is a nice pair, so I bought it.
Was a bit heartbroken at the price of the shoes,
But JS, PY and Merci told me that it really is nice, so...
Yeah... Nevermind lah...

Was abit sad to throw my spoilt shoes away..
It was my favourite pair after all, and beyond repair.
Maybe I'll pop by the outlet to see if they still have the same design...
=(

=======

Oh yea!
I want to thank dear
Peiyi,
Elsie
and the
Tuba Section!!

On the day of the concert, I was still having this very bad cough...
Was practically coughing and coughing away during the last rehearsal and actual rehearsal at the hall till the surrounding people just ignored me when I coughed.
Peiyi ensured that I had water and wanted to give me hers when mine had finished,
And Elsie helped to get an extra bottle of water.

Then I found out a temporary relief... SWALLOWING Fisherman's Friends Lozanges
(the whole lump) down the throat.

I don't know how in the world I thought of trying,
But yeahh.
The idea came, I tried, and it works!
So throughout rehearsal and the actual performance,
I was practically swallowing sweets after every 1 to 2 pieces.
=X

Was feeling not so well at the second half,
Vomited a little before we went up...
PY accompanied me to the toilet and ensured that I was alright.
I went back, and almost everyone in the tuba section was asking me if I was okay.

Thanks to the tuba section and PY for the help and concern!!! :)

=======

Chris and Andi were meeting some of our friends in a club nearby after the concert.
They actually wanted to fetch me home cos he knew that I wasn't feeling well,
But I told him that I was already meeting some people for dinner...
So I told them to go off 1st.

Went tie collecting after that.
Was supposed to meet Jerold for dinner,
But got him to eat with Sarah and the others since they were there.
Went to eat with the KSWS people instead. :))
(Js, Azmi, Dear Elisse, Merci, Law Fatt)

Poor Law Fatt was lost with his big bike,
Then we can't call him, cos he cannot answer while he was driving.
Was about to look for him when Law Wei (who went to watch the concert with Gabriel) came up with his horn case..
Phew...

The Mac we were eating at...
HAHAHA - Almost half of it is filled by the performers and their friends!!
Met Sarah and the others,
Some early alumni members, and many of the band people who watched the concert there.
LOL. Kind cool.

Ate dinner there till 11.30P.M.,
Then everyone hurried to the MRT and took the last train home. :D
