Someone asked me today;
"Jiejun, where do you get all your energy from?
Band, band all day... Don't you get tired?
I was from band too... And I really can't tahan."

(Okay... Obviously during one of my 'siao' periods...
Just adding on,
I'm NOT always emo de okay...)

Well...
Hehe.

How should I put it?
I'm happy during band days,
Which are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays for NYPSO,
Fridays and Saturdays for Kim Seng.

And strangely,
'No band days' like Thursday and Sundays makes me jumpy...

Sure they're tiring,
But I still DO look forward to them like anything,
And I'm not forcing myself to either.

1st thing,
Time management.

Thank goodness the timetable this sem is perfect for me.
I can use the afternoons before band to do my tutorials.
And thank goodness for 'free day' on Wednesday and Sundays.
I plan properly,
Do and study what I can in those times that I'm free.
So time management.
Yup.


2nd thing that I experience..
Maybe its just the X factor that keeps me going ba...
I have the want to go and practice on my instrument...
Like before I reach the band room,
I'll be like kanchiong to go bandroom and take my instrument out.
Haha!
Then band practice is like woohoO!
Make music with the band!
The best periods in NYP is now,
When the pieces are starting to take shape,
And you can hear how you add on to the piece.
This goes for Kim Seng too.

You play together with the people,
You hear parts slowly falling into place.
And it feels great to play with them.

You hear yourself,
And how your part relates to the music.
I don't know for others,
But it makes the me feel important and happy,
And it keeps me going...
Like the need to improve on my tuning,
Phrasing,
More practice, etc.


The third factor is the people.
As in the people in the band,
The members.
And this plays a big part in the 'drive' too!
In NYPSO,
One of the factors that keeps me going is that I can see the eupho and tuba kids,
See Kit Ying,
Rou Zhen and the others.

Needless to say,
Kim Seng too!
There's Lawrence and Amy,
Alicia,
Weiyi,
Charlie,
Yong An,
Xiu Mei,
Jingsi,
SzeHou,
Shiying,
Elisse,
YueYuan,
Weiyi,
Mr Ng, and many others...


Haha.
All those factors are what keeps me going on.
Band is never a chore for me...

Although its sometimes sian and pressurizing cos you have many projects and stuff to do...
But I still attend band practice cos I WANT TO,
NOT cos I must.

Arrgh...
How to say...

Ok.

For instance,
Being the stubborn me,
Do you think I'll do something that I don't want to if I can skip it?
I'm doing it cos I WANT to,
NOT because I MUST.
Yup.

And its like I have 'no life' can?
Your definition of 'life' might be partying,
Clubbing and stuff,
Spending time with people,
Things that keep you happy.

But I chose band.
Everything about band,
The practice,
The eupho,
My friends are there too!
That's what keep me happy.
That's all my 'life' out there.
