I saw a tutorial question that made me laugh.
Tutorial 4 - Defects in Contract 1
1. Pete visits Dave’s Car Mart, a dealer in second-hand cars. He is attracted to a red Mazda displayed in the showroom. When he approaches Dave to enquire about the car, he is
told that the car has not been used much and has travelled only 1,000 km. Pete is eager
to buy the car and pays $80,000 for it.
A week later, he sends the car to a friend's workshop for some minor modifications amounting to $2,000. To his surprise, the mechanic discovers that the car has done more than 1,000 km. In fact, the mechanic confirms that the odometer (an instrument that measures the distance travelled) had been adjusted to reflect 1,000 km instead of 55,000 km. When confronted, Dave admits to adjusting the odometer so that he could get a better price for the car.
(a) Explain whether Pete has any remedies against Dave.
(b) Would your answer to part (a) be different if it was actually Mike, the original
owner of the car, who had secretly adjusted the odometer and Dave had checked
the odometer when he bought the car from Mike?
Is it me or did I just see Davian,
Peter and their dad's names in the question??
LMAO.
I just read this and kept smiling.
All's left of the James household is Susan and Grandma.
Hahahahahahahah. XD
